Why a homelab?

I'm a curious person, I tinker a lot, I break a lot of things to understand how to fix them. I learn by doing. And sometimes its fun hosting things on your own.

Power

In South Africa, we have a energy crisis referred to as Load Shedding, where we have national blackouts for 2-4 hours per day, sometimes once to 3 times per day which depends on the schedule.

So having a homelab that draw as little power as possible made the most sense. After powering up 3 Intel NUCs with the cabinet draws about 90W when its idling.

For backup power I have the Ecoflow River Pro which provides 720Wh capacity.
